It is VERY common. I work at an inner city highschool and am ALWAYS shocked by the tolerated level of violence among the kids. I'm not an old prude (turned 30 two months back) and it sickens me to see the kids, male and female, get so excited watching eachother and videos online of people fighting. They are very quick to excuse the behavior with comments as Eva shared. Daily I see girls being slammed against lockers by boys and everyone around laughing. Its all a big joke - even if someone gets hurt. Blows my mind.
